Protection of Disabled People in the Labor Market in the Conventions and Recommendations of the International Labor Organization
Abstract
The study concerns the protection of disabled people in the labor market as included in documents issued by the International Labor Organization. The analysis conducted using the dogmatic-legal method is intended not only to demonstrate the purposefulness and effects of introducing specific recommendations and conventions that take into account the needs of people with disabilities and recognize their role in the labor market, but above all to present the changing sensitivity and understanding of the needs of people with disabilities. The issues of this work are aimed at drawing attention to the problems underlying the introduced changes, including the adaptation of the profession to the needs of the labor market and, above all, the opportunities of people with disabilities, then presenting the solutions implemented by the International Labor Organization, and also presenting the author's conclusions as to the validity of their introduction and the actual impact on the situation of people with disabilities, with particular emphasis on the labor market. For the purposes of this study, a review of the most important acts of the International Labour Organization was carried out, and on their basis an analysis was undertaken of the evolution of recommendations aimed at eliminating discrimination against people with disabilities from the labor market and their purpose. Therefore, it became important to determine the circumstances that influenced the development and shape of the proposed solutions for disabled people and what factors led to the commencement of work on facilitating access to the labour market for people with disabilities.
