Joanna Pędzisz is since 2007 Ph.D. in German and Applied Linguistics, doctoral thesis: „Provozierter Dissens als Kommunikationsstrategie am Beispiel der Polit-Talkshow von Sabine Christiansen im deutschen Fernsehen“. In 2017: published monograph: „Profil des Online-Diskurses in Blog-Interaktionen an der Schnittstelle zwischen theoretischem Konzept und empirischem Modell“ [The profile of online discourse in blog-mediated interactions at the interface between theoretical concept and the empirical model]. The reflections and results of the analyses refer to the paradigms of text linguistics, discourse analysis, conversational analysis and cognitive grammar. In order to add an interdisciplinary dimension to the reflections and analyses, I also implement them in foreign language teaching and translation didactics, in particular in the area of simultaneous interpreting teaching. In the published works I focus on the following aspects: a) conflict in social discourse and dissent in face-to-face interaction, b) online discourse as object of investigation of discourse analysis and c) discursive competence and translational competence. Since 2008: member of the Polish Association of German Studies Experts. Since 2011: member of the Polish Association of Applied Linguistics. And in the years 2004 – 2013: member of the Polish Neophilological Society.
